RETIREMENT PLAN ADMINISTRATOR
(this is an on-site position - not a telecommuting position)
Indiana Benefits, Inc., is a growing privately-owned TPA firm located in Bloomington, Indiana. We are seeking a full time Administrator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in balance-forward defined contribution plan administration, with an interest in assuming management responsibilities. We use Datair plan administration software. We are committed to providing excellent service and quality work to our clients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for all aspects of DC/401(k) plan administration
including: interpreting plan documents, calculating allocations (including
cross-tested allocations), compliance and
testing (ADP/ACP testing; understanding of and ability to apply IRC 401(a)(4), 402(g),
410(b) and 415, trust accounting and asset reconciliation, preparing annual
valuation reports and government forms, assisting with conversions from one
investment platform to another and maintaining client and professional
relationships. You will also assist in training and mentoring less experienced employees to
encourage their growth at IBI.
Also helpful would be experience researching questions (i.e. using Benefitslink, TagData, CCH or other resources) and experience with the preparation of plan documents and amendments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
4 year B.A. degree
5+ years experience in balance-forward defined contribution plan administration
- must be experienced (hands-on) and proficient in trust
reconciliation, testing (including cross-tested DC
plans), and preparation of Form 5500
MS Office proficiency
Datair administration software experience (helpful, but not required)
Retirement plan credentials (i.e. QKA, QPA, CPC and/or ERPA) would be a plus

Good compensation - starting pay will be commensurate with experience and
knowledge

CONTINUING EDUCATION
IBI supports continuing education for all full time staff. This includes sharing
knowledge within our firm, as well as participating in webcasts, off-site
continuing education and encouraging staff to participate in ASPPA
educational/professional designation programs.
OUR FIRM
We are a privately owned TPA firm located in Bloomington, Indiana and have been
in business since 1982. After 16 years at our previous location, we've
just moved to a new location that provides comfortable workspace and room for
our continued growth. Parking is provided on site.
Our specialty is providing TPA and consulting services to small and mid-sized plans. Almost all of our clients come to us by referral - we're only as good as our reputation. We try to be as "user-friendly" to our clients as possible. During normal business hours, our phones are answered by a human being and our clients really appreciate the service and respect that they receive from us. Many of our clients have been with us for over 20 years. We have an excellent reputation in our operating area and maintain good relations with the IRS TE/GE agents who cover our area.
We attempt to keep overtime to a minimum. When it's needed, we pay for it (1.5 times your normal rate).
We work together as a team - sharing knowledge, expertise and help when another staff member needs it. Dress is business casual and our normal business hours are 9 to 5 Monday through Friday. To provide a healthy work environment, we prohibit the use of any scented products or tobacco products on company property.
OUR LOCATION
Bloomington is a college town (Indiana University) located 50 miles south of
Indianapolis. Cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities are
abundant. From Bloomington, you can drive 1 hour to Indianapolis, 1.5 hours to
Louisville, 2 hours to Cincinnati 3.5 hours to Chicago or 66.5 hours to
