Indiana Benefits, Inc., is a small privately-owned professional firm located in the College Mall area of Bloomington. Our specialty is providing Third Party Administrator (TPA) and consulting services to small and mid-sized retirement plans. Most of our clients come to us by referral. We strive to be as "user-friendly" to our clients as possible. We have been in business since 1982.
IBI is committed to providing excellent service and quality work to our clients. Our clients appreciate the service and respect that they receive from us. Many of our clients have been with us for over 20 years. We have an excellent reputation in our operating area and maintain good relations with the IRS agents who examine retirement plans.
At IBI we work together as a team - sharing knowledge, expertise and help when another staff member needs it. Dress is business casual. To provide a healthy work environment, we prohibit the use of any scented products or tobacco products on company property.
We are currently seeking one or more paid, part-time College Interns with a major in accounting and experience with Excel. Our internship program is designed to be mutually beneficial:

JOB OBJECTIVE
The primary objective is to perform accurate and timely services for clients and support IBI operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assisting with the delivery of client services and IBI operations, including, but not limited to:
A. Preparation
of financial statements for retirement plans, including analyzing investment
statements and data entry
B. Assisting with printing, compiling, binding of client retirement plan
reports, including related document scanning
C. Filing - correspondence, investment statements, etc.
D. Assisting with our electronic document imaging project to convert paper files
to electronic files, including scanning
E. Assisting with mass mailings and/or mass e-mailings (usually in December and
January) and other special projects
F. Assuming additional and/or different responsibilities/activities that may be
assigned as you gain experience
2. Keeping current with new procedures to maintain and improve your level of skill
3. Maintaining proficiency in using IBI systems and office equipment
4. Sharing knowledge with other members of the firm to maintain and improve quality of our services and image
5. Making suggestions to improve our firm's services (including new services, improvements to existing forms and/or procedures, cost efficiencies, etc.) so we can provide better service, retain clients and attract new clients
6. Helping to maintain goodwill with clients, their advisors and other professionals
7. Complying with scent-free office policy
SOFTWARE CURRENTLY USED AT IBI
1. Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Access,
Outlook
2. Adobe Acrobat Standard (read and write pdf files)
3. Datair - specialized retirement plan software
4. FT William - specialized retirement plan software
TERMS
1. Pay starts at $10.00 per hour. Pay period is bi-weekly.
2. 15 to 20 hours per week on a regular schedule each semester, during normal business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday). Working during semester breaks and spring break is optional.
3. All employees are required to sign an employment agreement which restricts working for a competitor.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education - must have completed introductory college accounting coursework
2. Specific Job Experience - candidate needs to know and understand generally accepted office practices and Microsoft Office applications and be able to effectively communicate with clients and other professionals orally and in writing.
